Zonta Bendigo - 2024 Birthing Kit Fundraiser

Only a few weeks to go until we purchase 1000 Birthing Kits from the foundation, and we are halfway to reaching our FUNDRAISING GOAL Thanks to those who have supported us to date, we would love to reach our target of $5000, so if you're able, please make a donation in the coming days.

Zonta Bendigo envisions a world in which all women and girls have access to a clean and safe birth. Our club's 2024 goal is to assemble 1000 birthing kits at a cost of $5,000.

Each birthing kit supports the 6 principles of cleanliness for mothers, newborns, and birth attendants helping to reduce the number of deaths during childbirth.

These kits give women in remote regions of a developing country a chance for a safe birth, sometimes in the presence of a trained birthing kit attendant.
A further advancement in recent months is the use of a biodegradable plastic sheet and bag that contains the kit – a great environmental step forward.

Clean birth kits have been made in Australia by volunteers and distributed by the BKF on-ground partners in over 30 developing countries.
