We are "Daze of Thunder" a team of three Kiwis and an Aussie taking part in a crazy adventure called the Mongol Rally 2024, and hoping to raise heaps of money for needy communities along the way. The Mongol Rally is a motoring adventure of both epic and ridiculous proportions. The aim is to have a load of fund and misadventure whilst driving a crappy small engined vehicle across some of the harshest terrain on the planet! We start in Prague on the 14 July and drive our 1.2L 2006 Wheelchair Modified Renault Kangoo though Eastern Europe, across the Caspian Sea into Central Asia and finally, with a lot of luck and support from the people we meet along the way, finishing in far Eastern Kazakhstan on 25th August. Because this is quite a crazy adventure we are going to use the opportunity to drum up some funds for good causes along the way! We will already be donating to charities within our local communities as well as to the Mongol Rally's official charity, but we want to do even more than this! There is no doubt we will be passing through some pretty remote areas of Central Asia where we will meet people who do not share the same wealth and opportunities afforded to us in Australia and New Zealand. Our team has decided that we want to give back to these communities who will inevitably be helping us reach our final destination and goal. And that is the crux of this Fundraising campaign! Who might need our funds? Maybe a school in the remote areas of Kyrgyzstan or a Medical Outpost in regionAl Tajikistan. Maybe farmers on the Kazakh/ Mongolian Steppe having suffered mass losses of stock from the very harsh winter just had or maybe a family in the desert of Uzbekistan struggling to get all their children an education. Everyday people in need of a little boost to help them get by.
