As my friend Brendan and Alisha welcomed the Christmas, their hearts were full of anticipation for their family of 3 to become 4. However, their joy turned to fear when 1 yr old Huxley contracted Covid, revealing a malignant lung tumor. Despite treatment, another tumor emerged in his neck, resistant to chemotherapy. Diagnosed now with SMARCB1 genetic mutation causing young Huxley to be more prone to malignant rhabdoid tumours in childhood. With newborn Lainey, mounting bills, and inability to work, this family desperately need support.
