Lahni and Lyricas Heartbreaking Story

On the 7th of February 2024, my niece Lahnis life was changed forever. Her heart was broken, her dreams of competing in the State Championships this year with her beautiful Palomino Lyrica, over.

Lahnis best friend Lyrica, her prized Palamino was tragically found deceased by Lahni in the early hours of the morning. During the night, roaming dogs had chased her baby to a tragic ending.

I’ve created this fundraiser to try and help Lahni purchase another horse that she can put her heart and soul into, train to be her loving companion again and hopefully one day help heal her broken heart. I’m praying this will lesson the pain she is feeling. The hours, days, months and years she spent training Lyrica, growing with Lyrica and forming an unbreakable bond with Lyrica, will never be able to be replaced but let’s try help this beautiful, amazing young extremely talented girl, start again.

Lahni was raised with horses, they are her life, her everything. She has been riding horses since she was 6mths old, before she could walk!

Lyrica arrived on September 20 2020 as an early Christmas surprise for Lahni. In the time she was with us Lahni has worked very hard with her caring for her, loving her, training her. They were becoming an incredible team having gone from not being a showjumper to competing 70cm and jumping up to a metre at home. They have competed at state level and were due to leave in 8 weeks for the State Championships in Maryborough. They had formed an incredibly special bond.

What happened to Lahni and Lyrica, should never have happened. No one this young should have to experience such trauma!
