The Village Learning Co-op is a beautiful grass roots, not for profit community group for homeschooling families in the Margaret River Region, Western Australia.
We began as a small group of homeschooling families, coming together once a week for connection, creativity and time in nature and to foster a sense of community and belonging for our children and families.
As our children have grown, their needs have expanded and so has our Village Learning Co-op!
We now offer a holistic & child centred, 3 day per week learning co-operative, with a focus on group learning, creativity, play, deep nature connection, nurturing relationships & friendships and educating the heart, mind, body & soul.
We are dedicated to holistic and child centred education, creating community and connection and offer a number of options for different families needs, desires and capacities, including open and free of charge community seasonal celebrations & events, free of charge weekly community lead groups, paid facilitated programs and one off free & paid classes & workshops, for children, teens & adults!
Our Co-op is entirely community funded, primarily from the co-op families themselves and we operate on a very limited (but resourceful) budget.
A couple of our fundraising goals for 2024 include:
*A Yurt for our Joeys Kindy Group to use as their indoor space
*To join the Our Patch environmental education program through Nature Conservation Margaret River
*A storage shed for materials & supplies
We are so incredibly grateful for any donations given, as these go towards basic co-op upkeep, materials, supplies and infrastructure needed and improving the groups & programs that we can offer our children.
With love & gratitude,
Marja (Community founder & organiser)
Well done for creating and offering such a wonderful service to the community. We need more alternative and holistic education options like this!
