Less than 36hrs to go . . . first up, thank you to all those that have donated, a massive thank you for your support to those incredible foundations.
Here in the Blue Mountains, prepped and ready to tackle the trails...looks like rain is on its way, fun times ahead!
Losing 3 amazing friends over a 6month span sucked; Felix in Oct, Simon in Dec + Christina in Mar.
They truly were 3 unique individuals that made an impact on all they met.
In honour of all 3, I have decided to not just tick off a personal bucketlist item of a 24hour Mountain Bike Race, but to do it in the memory of these amazing people.
Over 750hrs (that's over 31 - full 24hr days) of training and races this year in preparation for the Jetblack 24hr, presented by Rocky Trails Entertainment at Rydal, NSW on Nov 25+26.
I would like to ask if you have ever lost someone, stood by friends or family during their fight, or just sick of the toll of cancer, maybe you could find it in yourself to make a donation to cancer research at the Peter MacCallum Institute or if you prefer, put some $ towards the Epilepsy Foundation.
Of course, no matter the size of the donation, we cannot thank you enough for your generosity.
While racing for 24hrs will ensure I tackle my own pain barrier, it will surely be gone within days...for Felix, Simon + Christina and many others, they didn't or won't get that luxury, it's an ongoing fight for their lives.
Thanks for your support of these amazing charities.
A massive thanks goes out to my sponsors for the race:
Phukwit Clothing + 3 Point Zero gym . . .Legends!!!
