On September 30, 2023, I will be setting off on a 730km unsupported bikepacking event - the Karnu Rally. I will depart from Tarntanya/Adelaide and ride through the Karnu (mountains) of Ikara/Flinders Ranges.
I am seeking sponsors to raise funds for This Life Cambodia’s bicycle program. Bicycles are purchased and given to families to improve children’s access to schools and education. Children often live remotely from schools and use the bicycles from This Life Cambodia to get there each day.
Moreover, after school and on weekends, their families can use these bicycles to travel to other villages to sell their goods. This allows the families to increase their income and reduces the pressure for the students to drop out of school.
Through a range of programs, This Life Cambodia achieved an aggregate decrease in dropout rates of 30.35% across 11 participating schools in 2017.
