Skye Whitfield is a wonderful 7 year old girl who is very dear to all of our hearts! Diagnosed at 2 years old with a genetic duplication 7p22.1 which is one of only 18 confirmed cases, Skye continues to be one of the most inspirational young people. After being diagnosed with a rare cancer (langerhans cell histiocytosis) when she was two years old, Sky has battled four rounds of chemo over five years! While suffering from difficulty walking, inability to speak and global delay, Skye has continued to fight and attempted to have a normal life. One can only imagine the sleepless nights, emotional strain, and the feeling of utter helplessness her parents, Sunny and Shelly Whitfield, endure. Yet this family has done more for the WORLD than all of us have even dreamed of completing.
