Alfie- our beloved 2.5 yr old family staffy x , best friend & fur baby was brutally attacked by 3 dogs. He is lucky to be alive! He is a survivor! But he needs your help. We do. With emergency surgery & ongoing vet fee's; please help us give Alfie the care he deserves!
On Wednesday April 26 just before 10pm, I took Alfie on his regular pre bed time wee wee walk. He is always on his leash.
A pack of 3 vicious dog's, were out, of leashes, ambushed us and brutally attacked our Alfie boy. The owner of the dogs was drunk, did eventually arrive, but couldn't call his dogs off! The attack went for what felt like forever, as I did everything in my power to free Alfie! They were all bigger and worked in a pack mentality. The male dog owner yelled at me to " run, run or they'll attack you too"! I didn't run. I wasn't leaving my poor innocent boy, who was being rag dolled, punctured and torn, and, had been dragged from the footpath onto the middle of the road! By the grace of God, Alfie was released and we ran home. We were chased again! This was terrifying and traumatic for both of us!
The dog owner admitted there and then this was his fault, and that he was drunk! He gave me a dodgy phone number and hasn't made any contact since the attack.
Why, just why would he take his 3 dogs walking off the lead? They are dangerous to the public! As sad as it is our dog was the innocent victim here, we are pleased it wasn't a smaller dog or worse still, a child!
So far Alfie's surgery and vet bills are upwards of $2500. He is required to attend ongoing vet visits every 5 days and we have to transport him in a cab as we don't have a car at the moment.
My partner and I are both on benefit's struggling to make ends meet since covid we haven't been able to work due to our own medical, dental and personal reasons.
We are still overcoming a home break-in/ intrusion which happened only 8 months ago and also left Alfie injured and traumatised.
We thankyou so much, in advance for digging deep and helping us in this time of need. The attack has affected Alfie and our whole family.
2 of our teenagers have had birthdays this week and we have been unable to give them the day's they both deserve.
As I said before, we are grateful that Alfie is alive and relieved that no one else was hurt!
I will post photos and provide updates.
Thanks again, stay safe and God bless.
