Higher Education Completion for Students from Indrawati, Sindhupalchok

“If I get good grades, I will pursue either science or management, if not I’ll either go for Education or Humanities!” We believe all of us reading this have heard or said that statement at least once in our lifetime.
Growing up we had choices of choosing subjects as per the attained SEE grades. We believe most of us had the privilege of choice when we were teaching our students in Sindhupalchok. When students were asked about what they will do after SEE, some of the brightest students of the class said that they will join college offering- Education even though they aimed to study Science as Science was not taught in their community colleges. Also, the costs, repercussions of pursuing higher studies in Kathmandu valley was risky and expensive for their families.

We believed in the potential of that child and we knew the wonders they could do if they were given the right opportunities. We knew if provided them with the right environment they would thrive and learn.

Teaching in Sindhupalchok for two years, we had realized that studying +2 in a private college at Kathmandu was another ball game for our kids as the courses are taught all in the English language. Therefore, we started this project with the objective to invest in our students and their future. And we clearly didn’t agree upon “just” bringing our kids to Kathmandu and admitting them to a college. We knew that our kids needed extra mentorship, support and guidance in terms of language, mindset and mostly adaptability in Kathmandu.
Therefore, with a hope to cater a future of “One child at a time” and an objective to support 5 much-deserved children from different schools of Indrawati Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok district, we started this ambitious project “One Child~One Sponsor”.

We selected 5 students from 5 different schools of Sindhupalchok and right now, three of them are studying Science and two of them are studying management in Advance Academy, Kumaripati. Along with their college study, they are in residential support, mentorship and continuous guidance in a hostel( Dostel Living and Learning Center) run nearby Kumaripati.

We are glad to inform you all that we have sponsors, donors connected with us from the beginning day of our project and so far we’ve been able to cover about 76% of our total budget! But we are still aiming to raise about 24% of our total budget which will later assure the two years of quality education, accommodation and mentorship for five of our brilliant kids.

And we really need your support at this moment. So, Please help five of our kids continue their High School Education for this one AMBITIOUS PROJECT. This fund is for building their lives and we hope that you will see the worth of the smallest donation as it goes directly in building dreams and communities where these children will stand as role models for many other children who aspire for bigger dreams.
