The Central Australian Frack Free Alliance (CAFFA) represented by the Environmental Defender’s Office (EDO), are launching a legal challenge to gas company Tamboran’s approval to drill and frack 12 exploratory wells about 600km south of Darwin.
If Tamboran are allowed to frack in this precious region - the Beetaloo Basin would be opened for business. This would have a catastrophic impact on runaway climate change and affect the lives of everyone who resides in the Territory.
You can help stop this disaster today by backing in our court case. We need to raise a large sum of $55,000 to fund the case - anything you can give will help us stand strong against this fracking company.
CAFFA and EDO’s court case will argue that the approval given to this project last November was invalid because Environment Minister Lauren Moss failed to consider climate impacts of future gas projects which Tamboran’s exploratory drilling will enable.
Approval for this project could pave the way for vast new gas fields across the heart of the Territory - with thousands of frack wells and wastewater ponds decimating the landscape and sucking dry or polluting vital aquifers which local communities rely on.
We can’t let this go ahead, so much hinges on this court case.
Can you chip in to support the legal costs for this brave little group taking on the NT Government and fracking company Tamboran?
When will they learn that NO means 'NO!'?
