Earlier in February Turkiye and Syria was struck with 2 earthquakes which resulted in a devastating loss of life of over 40,000 people - unfortunately this number is going up every day. Many nations have supported Turkiye by sending search and rescue teams as well as critical aid and funds. You too can help.
Sadly I have lost 4 dear family members, some have been rescued and are in hospital receiving emergency care and others are displaced from their homes fearful of further aftershocks.
According to the World Health Organization, nearly 26 million people have been directly impacted by the quake, and many of these will face the threat of hunger, disease and physical and psychological trauma.
This earthquake is already the fifth-worst natural disaster of the 21st century in terms of death toll, and will likely soon be third-worst, behind only the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, which killed as many as 316,000 people, and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami in which an estimated 228,000 people died.
If you would like to contribute to this fundraiser, you will be directly helping people with food, clothing, medicine and housing. These people have lost everything and anything you can contribute, even if it is the cost of your daily coffee will help so much and I will be very thankful for your generosity.
