On Tuesday 31st January our great friend and workmate Adam was tragically killed in a car accident. A loss that will be felt by so many of us but especially Adam’s family. Adam’s son Darcy has survived the accident but is in a critical condition in the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Darcy was flown to Royal Children’s and presented with a substantial number of injuries. He has a possible high spinal injury which will require a MRI to assess. He has a traumatic brain injury which the severity is still unknown. A frontal sinus fracture, nasal fracture , bilateral lung confusions & pneumothorax in which he has drains. Grade 4 liver laceration, grade 2 spleen injury, grade 3 kidney injury and adrenaline gland haematoma.
Grade 3 open fracture of right radius & ulna. Orthopaedic surgeons have addressed this however he will require a second surgery. He also has multiple lacerations over his body.
He is currently incubated and heavily sedated to relief the pressure on his brain. The positive news is he is stable and showing small signs of improvement.
This little man is a fighter and continues to show his determination and toughness everyday.
Darcy will need ongoing medical treatment and rehabilitation for months, if not years. We would like to support Darcy and his family and we hope you are able to as well.
A trust fund is currently being set up for donations for Darcy, which the funds will be directed to once established.
Sending healing prayers for Darcy and prayers of strength, love and peace to the family ....??
