For the upcoming South32 Rottnest Channel Swim 2023, we are raising funds for the Kai Eardley Foundation.
The charity was created after the passing of 20-year-old Kai Eardley, who sadly took his life after struggling with depression and anxiety.
Suicide has become the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 to 45, with 75% of all mental illnesses developing before the age of 25.
The Kai Eardley Foundation seek to do something about this through their peer-based programs & immersive workshops which provide young adults with opportunities to talk about their challenges and help them tackle issues surrounding mental health.
To support the cause, swimming the 19.7km to Rotto on behalf of the Kai Eardley Foundation are:
Team Swimtek Big Orse - Paul Laver - Travis Nederpelt - Jake Smith - Andy Donaldson
Skippers - Andy Cass and Max Taylor Support - Clark Carlson and Chris Felgate
We are aiming to raise $1,000 for the Kai Eardley Foundation (although the sky is the limit!).
With the challenges of these past few years, your donations to help everyday young adults with their mental health are as important as ever.
Please help us cherish Kai's memory in the best way possible by supporting this wonderful initiative. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
We provide free workshops in schools and clubs that allow young people to talk about their challenges without judgement and providing strategies to build emotional muscle with peer support.
