In 2010 I was diagnosed with a rare immune disease that attacks the Liver. I was fit and healthy, didn't drink or smoke, and completed regularly in road cycling races.
As the disease progressed, I gradually lost muscle to the point where I was no longer able to lift my arms or walk more than a few metres without resting.
I was one of the fortunate people to be offered a replacement liver, and after 10 hours of surgery, I was stable and out of the operating theatre.
Although I have never regained the muscle I used to have, I am enjoying riding again, and have been given the chance to compete in the World Transplant Games in Perth in 2023.
Your kind donation will go directly to Transplant Australia to help continue the valuable work they do saving people's lives.
