About
Project Vulcan is a theatre piece made by actors with disability about identity, justice and the environment. Vulcan was the Roman god of Fire. Australia has suffered floods, droughts and bushfires and know about the power of fire and their environment. Vulcan was also a god who was born with a disability. Our story weaves the myths of Olympus, with identity and disability, the Aussie bush and the plight of its inhabitants and a voice for change to protect our future. Written and performed by Tasmanian actors with disability, this show is destined for wider audiences around Australia and overseas. Our goal is to get to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024 to spread our message of the plights of global warming and how that affects our most vulnerable citizens. Like the Koala in the bush, Project Vulcan gives voice to those who refuse to be victims in this challenging time. Fire! It spreads, it moves! let us spread the word and move you to laughter and tears but ultimately...into climate action!
I was Julian's primary school teacher and am so proud of all that he has achieved. Good luck to all the group.
