Hiking is a pre-motherhood passion of mine (photo above was taken before my first pregnancy!). I want to restart it, not only for myself, but for it to be a chance to raise funds and awareness for a cause close to my heart. In 2019 I became a statistic - 1 in 4 women who have experienced pregnancy loss. In honour of our stillborn baby Ollie, during the coming year, I will challenge myself to do one hike a month. All money raised will go to the Australian charity 'Red Nose'. Every year, around 110,000 Australians have a miscarriage. 2,200 more endure the pain of stillbirth, 600 lose their baby in the first 28 days after birth and many more face the grief of termination for medical reasons.
Red Nose is a national charity that helps save little lives through research and education, and supports families who baby or young child has died during pregnancy, birth, infancy and early childhood.
