Thanks for visiting my Fundraising Page for St Andrews 2022 On Country! My school is partnering with RAW Impact, a registered not-for-profit organisation, to get hands-on to help deliver sustainable development programs for the Gunggari Nation (located in the region of Mitchell in Qld). RAW’s mission is Raising Awareness Worldwide to Inspire Generational Change. The story of the Gunggari people, like many Aboriginal people in Australia, is one of dispersal and dislocation with a legacy of hurt and disconnection. There is currently a crisis of identity, purpose and self-value among many Gunggari people today. Our funding and hands-on support is for the Gunggari Nation to provide infrastructure and opportunities for their people to come back On Country to their sacred home called the Yumba on the outskirts of the town of Mitchell, to restore identity, connect their people with each other (regardless of age) and enable the crucial sharing of knowledge to safeguard their culture.
