I'm lucky to live in a country where high quality healthcare is equally accessible and affordable, including for pregnant women and their babies. I'm also very aware that this is not the case in so many countries across the world, which is why I would really love to use my baby shower as a birth kit assembly day.
Birthing Kit Foundation Australia (BKFA) is a non-for-profit NGO that is dedicated to the elimination of preventable maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity. One aspect of this are the clean birth kits they provide which aim to prevent infections which can be easily avoided with some basic equipment.
These kits include: - Soap - A plastic sheet - Gloves - Gauze - Cord ties - A sterile blade
All the funds raised here will go directly to purchasing clean birth kits which will be assembled as part of my baby shower, and any remaining funds will be put through as a regular donation to BKFA.
None of the funds raised here will come to me at any stage of the process. They immediately go to BKFA and I will then liaise with them regarding the number of birth kits to be ordered/assembled. Again, the remaining funds that are not used to purchase kits to be assembled will remain with BKFA as a regular donation.
I would so appreciate your support in this! Each birth kit only costs $5 so any donation would be so much appreciated.
The Birthing Kit Foundation works in partnership with the Australian community to create a world in which all women and girls have access to a clean and safe birth.

it’s awful to think that the equipment in these kits are a privilege and not a right. hope this small donation can give just one strong women an even stronger chance of a beautiful birth. xx
