A remote team of 10 Services Australia staff based in different locations around Australia, we are exercising in our local areas (COVID friendly) and converting to steps/km to complete a virtual walk to the four remote communities currently partnered with the Cathy Freeman Foundation.
Starting in Woorabinda (QLD) we will walk (and row) to Palm Island (QLD) Galiwin'ku (NT) and end in Wurrumiynaga (NT) to reach our goal of 4,203km or 5,515,748 steps.
Physical and mental health is critical as we all battle COVID together and we aim to raise funds, awareness (and our health) for this very worthy charity.
The Cathy Freeman Foundation makes a significant difference in helping Indigenous children and their families recognise the power of education to achieve their goals and dreams.
Murrup (Community Spirit Foundation) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that partners with remote communities to design and deliver place-based programs that support children and young people, and their families, through their early years, school journey and beyond.
