About
Keyarn is 8 years old and is wanting to raise funds for The Carers Foundation in Brisbane. This foundation does amazing work, supporting unpaid carers while providing Resilience Wellbeing programs. As well as providing counselling support programs. This vital foundation also supports child carers who look after sick or disabled adult family members. Unfortunately, Keyarn knows all too well about challenges in life. Having been diagnosed with mild Cystic Fibrosis at birth, coeliac disease and most recently a very rare and progressive bone disease. So rare that only 2 other people in Australia have this condition. His bone disease affects his height, skeletal abnormalities and he has an abnormal gait limiting his physical capacity. He spent most of last year in a wheelchair, and has seen the kindness in others in supporting him during these challenging times. Despite everything he is going through, he is determined to help others.
Keyarn is limited with what sports he can play, but he can play and LOVES handball. He has come up with an idea to hold a 24hour challenge in order to raise funds for this worthy cause. (Don’t worry he wont be doing the full 24hrs on his own, he has plenty of delegates and supporters that are keen to help!)
The 24hr fundraiser will commence once a new date has been confirmed due to the Brisbane lockdown.
Anyone is welcome to come along and play. Please register for your free tickets via The Carers Foundation Australia Facebook page or by copying this link.
Your determination & positivity is inspiring Keyarn. Awesome work ?
