Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is a disease where the nerve cells controlling the muscles required to move, swallow and breathe lose function over time. Without these nerves, the muscles begin to progressively waste away where people will lose their ability to move and breathe on their own.
Currently there is no cure for MND. Once diagnosed the average life expectancy is only 27 months. Over the next month I will be running 5km a day for 27 days of the month (135km). I am doing this in memory of my father who we lost to MND when he was only 37 years old.
Every dollar raised will go to the Fight MND charity who act to fund research into finding a cure.
