About
For those of you who do not personally know me or my story, my name is Kiara Davies, I am your everyday 30-year-old young lady who loves the harness racing industry.
Whilst during 2020 and beyond the pandemic has been extremely overwhelming for most, 2020 was a personal roller-coaster of my own. On 27 March 2020, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. My life was put into a complete whirlwind and everything I took for granted came to a holt.
Instead of waking up and making my way to the pacing stables of Gary Hall Snr for work, I was now waking up for ongoing appointments and tests.
With my cancer being so aggressive, I was thrown into the deep end and straight into five months of gruelling chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy and reconstruction. After seven months of treatment and surgery, I am extremely lucky to sit here and write that I am currently cancer free. Whilst I still have a few obstacles ahead of me, I am extremely grateful for how lucky I have been.
The reason I am so passionate about organising a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Centre is because I would not be where I am today without them. They have basically saved my life, and I would love to, with everyone's support, give back as much as I can to support the future research of this horrid disease to help others.
Our Mission is to offer the best treatment, undertake high-quality research, deliver broad-based education, and provide support to individuals with breast cancer and their families.
