Australian Bushfire Crisis

Hi, my name is Jenny Beckett and I’m a part of a small fundraising collective based here in Austin, that will be hosting a fundraiser to aid in the Australian bushfire crisis. It is estimated that these devastating fires have ravaged over 12 million acres of land, destroyed over 2000 homes, over a billion animals have been killed, and at least 24 people have lost their lives.

The fundraiser will be held on Sunday, January 26th (Australia Day) at The Little Darlin’ from 12pm to 3pm and will directly support the disaster relief efforts for the Australian Red Cross and the World Wildlife Fund.

The delicious Little’ Darlin’ brunch menu will be available, and local garage-rock powerhouse, The Joe Jacksons, have graciously volunteered to perform!

To ensure our efforts in this extremely worthwhile endeavor are a complete success, we are seeking donations in the form of unique and interesting items and services for our raffle and silent auction. At our previously held events, we have received gift cards to athletic camps, restaurants, and retail stores. We have also received items such as art prints, custom clothing, gift baskets, and a variety of beer, wine and spirits. These generous contributions have helped us reach donation goals for varying local nonprofits and organizations.

I am reaching out to ask if you would like to participate in donating a gift for our raffle and silent auction, where 100% of the proceeds will go directly towards supporting Australia amid these catastrophic fires by way of the Australian Red Cross and the World Wildlife Fund. Your contribution would be vital in helping us raise the donations needed to aid these organizations, and truly make an impact in the lives of those affected.
