City to Surf run for Rescue Dogs

Hi Friends,

On Sunday 11 August I am taking part in the 14km City to Surf to raise funds for my four-legged friends at Rescue Hub.

I would be deeply honoured and extremely appreciative if you could donate a few dollars to help them out. Even a $5 donation will go a long way to helping with boarding-kennel fees, food, equipment, training etc. They rely entirely on the help of volunteers and donations.

I have been walking the rescue dogs every Sunday for the past 12 months. It's a wonderful experience because it gives the dogs some much-needed exercise and freedom, and makes me incredibly happy too. The dogs are so loving and appreciative, regardless of how hard life has been for them, and in some cases, how cruel their previous owners have been. They reward me with wagging tales, endless cuddles and a great run or walk.

Rescue Hub is dedicated to saving dogs from Hawkesbury Pound and finding them “Forever homes”. Rescue Hub is staffed by an amazing, dedicated and hard-working team of volunteers. It's a wonderful feeling seeing a dog welcomed into a loving home after having lived in the kennel.

Running training is going along reasonably well after having started running again in April. A niggling calf injury has held me back a bit but hopefully I will be reasonably fit on the day. The rescue dogs like Alina (pictured) are helping to get me fit!
It’ll be heaps of fun to run this for the dogs, I can’t wait!
