My name is Ella Burgun, and I am one of the 25 Australian students selected for the London International Youth Science Forum.
Founded in 1959, LIYSF aims to give a deeper insight into science and its applications for the benefit of all mankind; and to develop a greater understanding between young people from around the world. The forum is held in London, from the 24th of July to the 7th of August. The overall fee of $7,100 will cover my travel, accommodation and food, though I will need to pay a deposit of $2,500 by the 2nd of April to secure my place!
This experience is one of a kind, and though I am working an saving as hard as I can, it is very hard to come find that kind of money as a 17 year old.
Any amount, large or small, would really help.
I am passionate about science, and I plan on pursuing it as a career in the future so that I can tackle real world problems and really help people.
