Thanks for supporting me in Frocktober as I raise awareness and funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).
In 2016, a routine Pap test detected abnormal cells on my cervix that had the potential to become cervical cancer. Thanks to early detection I was able to have them successfully removed.
Unfortunately there is not yet an early detection test for ovarian cancer. One woman dies every 8 minutes from this disease. The OCRF states that if diagnosed early, over 90% of ovarian cancer patients could be cured. I am fundraising to support the OCRF in furthering their research in the development of an early detection test.
