BB The Burmese was rescued from a Pound where his time was up. Due to be Put to Sleep at any time. Romeo's took him in 5 weeks ago and he was in a very bad way.
He was underweight, with rotten teeth, cat flu and possible ringworm. He was suffering from chronic diarrhea. BB was placed on a drip for 5 days; medicated with 3 treatments of Vibravet for the Flu. The ringworm turned out to be a nasty skin condition which had him enduring medicated baths on a regular basis. BB underwent blood tests including FIV.. He was desexed and had a full dental removing many teeth. Under this sedation a full examination was done and issues with the stomach area were discovered, which resulted in xrays. The results were not good, residual GUN SHOT PELLETS pieces were found along with another serious condition, possibly Irritable Bowel Disorder or worse than that Lymphoma. BB started to improve, his recovery was going well. Last week he was found struggling to breathe, rushed to an emergency vet; diagnosis pneumonia, treatment oxygen and antibiotics.
ROMEOS CAT RESCUE have now taken him to a specialist for his stomach issues and biopsies taken. Waiting on results .... paws crossed not Lymphoma. Whatever the results BB will need ongoing treatment.
Through all this, BB has remained a loving, smoochey and loving boy. His skin is much better, his teeth are clean and pain free; he is eating well and finally putting on weight - 300grams in the last 2 weeks. Still on the vibravet for his chest although improving daily.
These treatments have taken a toll on ROMEO'S CAT RESCUE funds so any donation, no matter the size would be gratefully received.
I am hoping so much this poor little guy will be OK. How sad this is!!
