I am proud to be partnering with fellow cycling enthusiasts 'Knights of Suburbia' to raise money and awareness for the Love Me Love You foundation. My amazing wife Louise is a LMLY facilitator and I will continue to support her and LMLY by joining Knights of Suburbia to spread the message about mental illness.

Who are they? What do they do?
The Love Me Love You Foundation is an organisation that work to break down the stigma attached to mental health illnesses. They deliver engaging programs that educate participants on the importance of good mental health. Mental health illnesses are often invisible and have risen exponentially in recent years. In Australia one person every three hours takes their own life.

Everyone is touched by some kind of mental illness, it’s everywhere and it’s terrible. I work in the emergency service sector, where the risks of injury or death can be very high. It’s almost a year to the day that I almost lost my life at work. At the time of the incident it only lasted a few seconds, however it felt like the world was in slow motion. All I could see and think about was my wife and young daughter, sorry Mum.

I got professional help to talk about my issues and I’m proud to talk about it. I can’t thank my work colleagues enough for listening and talking to me. It’s time to start the conversation with family, friends and work colleagues and find out how they are going? Simply asking the question can greatly effect/change a persons day/week or life!
