Raising funds for: Cecile Vazourakis
My niece Princess Amarah was born on June 2nd 2017, a beautiful bundle of joy weighing at 3 kilos and 51cm in height. My brother Nino and sister in law Rose's first child together. A month later Princess Amarah's skin yellowed, along with her eyes. Nino and Rose were concerned and took her to their local doctor. Blood tests showed she had Jaundice and later confirmed Princess has a condition called Biliary Astresia. I was concerned for my niece. Not knowing what Biliary Astresia was, I googled it and this what came up: Definition & Facts- Biliary atresia is a condition in infants in which the bile ducts outside and inside the liver are scarred and blocked. Bile can't flow into the intestine, so bile builds up in the liver and damages it. The damage leads to scarring, loss of liver tissue and function, and cirrhosis. Source: https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/liver-disease/biliary-atresia. Now at 7 months old Princess Amarah weighs 5kg and 67cm in height. On the 15th of January 2018 she was admitted at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center in Baguio City, Manila Philippines. Rose has told me that Princess Amarah needs a complete liver transplant with a compatible donor. Without this operation my niece will pass away. This operation costs between 5-6 million Philippine peso in the Philippines, but fortunately in India, the procedure can be done between 3-4 million Philippine peso (roughly $96,000 Australian Dollars). With your help this fund raiser will provide for Princess Amarah's full liver transplant and any extra hospital and international fees. We are aiming at raising funds for $120,000 AUD. I am asking if you could find it in your hearts to please donate and help save a young soul. We also ask if you could include our Princess Amarah in your prayers. Many thanks from Cecile, Nino, Rose and family.

After including the offline donations by the Police Angling club, we thought to also include our other offline donations from our friends overseas who chose to also donate directly to Princess Amarah's bank account. They should be recognised and included too! Combined the amount is $603 AUD. Now we are sitting on $1,538 AUD (including offline donations). Thanks again to those who donated. Without you we are nothing, but together we are something. All the best and let us continue to pray for our Princess Amarah. Xo

A big thank you to the Victoria Police Angling club: secretary Timothy Hose and wife Helen Hose (Great Aunt of Princess Amarah) whom, along with the club, raised $300 donation this week. This is an offline donation as the club requested to send the funds directly to Princess Amarah's bank account. If you would like that option instead of through this site, contact me and I will organise that for you. Either way it still gets to our beautiful Princess Amarah. We have now raised $935 (including offline donations). Let's keep it going! Help Princess Amarah get her New Liver. If 20,000 people donates $3 each or 100 peso each we can achieve 2million ($50,000 AUD) for the transplant. One step at a time and we will achieve our goal of $70,000. Jonalyn Belista's baby Briseis had Choledochal Cyst requiring a complete liver transplant last year. She Under went the same struggles as a Biliary Astresia baby pre-transplant and had a successful full liver transplant at the Apollo Hospital India for 2 million Philippine peso. We aim to have Princess Amarah's full liver transplant at the same hospital in roughly 4 months times. So please donate to help her get her new liver. Thank you kindly from the bottom of our hearts.

Two success stories of babies under gone complete liver transplant, one with the India package of 2million Philippine peso and the other 5million in Taiwan. Jenny Sumalpong's son took the full liver transplant at the age of one in 2015. He too under went a transfusion to normalise bilirubin and 4 months later had the transpant. Though her son's full liver transplant was in Taiwan and at a higher price of 5 million Philippine peso, it was a success. I have yet to speak with Jonalyn Belista about her success story in Apollo Hospital India where Princess Amarah will go for her liver transplant once we achieve our fund raiser goal. That will be on my next update. Stay tuned.

We have some great news to share, my brother Nino found parent's of surviving babies of a full liver transplant. One family came cross a package with India for 2 million Philippine peso to undergo the transplant. A more achieveable goal which is roughly $49,000 AUD as oppose to the more expensive alternative $96,000 AUD (roughly 3-4 million Philippine peso) for the operation in India (also allowing hospital and international fees, totalling up to $120,000, our original fund raiser goal). With this cheaper package it means that our fund raiser goal has been reduced to $70,000 AUD with the $49,000 AUD (roughly 2 million Philippine peso) and additional $20,000 for hospital and international fees. When I first heard this news I thought 'would it be a cheap operation because it's a cheaper package?' This package was what one of the family's used for the full liver transplant and the baby is doing well. I will attach the link to the surviving babies who underwent a full liver transplant.
