Damien Muller & First Light Guiding Ama Dablam, Nepal Expedition - Raising Funds for a Cause
You may be aware that I am soon heading off to undertake a long desired expedition to attempt to summit Ama Dablam (6,812m) in the Nepalese Himalaya.
Over the past months of preparations I have been inspired by others who have been struggling with their own personal mountains and I know they will continue to inspire me during the challenges ahead. When the alarm goes off at 4am for a training session before work and I just want to stay in bed or I am suffering in one of those workouts I have drawn inspiration to get on with it from those who can’t just give up on their mountain and go home.
There have been two fantastic people who I am blessed have shared experiences with and can call fiends who have particularly inspired me to keep going. Both are wonderful, generous people who continue to invest in their communities despite their mountains. They also have an amazing positive outlook whenever I am around them.
One of those is Leah Black, mother of two teenage girls and partner to Dean Rodgers. She supports the Karratha (Australia) mountain bike, BMX and Baynton West Primary School communities in a variety of volunteer roles and until recently was a volunteer leader with Karratha’s Joey Scouts. I am privileged to work with her on the Burrup MTB Club Committee. Leah is continuing her long running battle with cancer.
I am hoping to raise some funds to ease the burden on Leah. If you find inspiration in my upcoming expedition or in Leah's struggle I am asking you to donate to her cause. I will match every dollar donated to this cause and two other causes I am supporting to a total of AUD$10,000. Please make me have to put my hand in my pocket for the full $10,000.
To claim my dollar matching please email a copy of your donation receipt to pilbara.gecko@gmail.com

Wishing you great success with your magnificent adventure Damien Muller, be one with that beautiful mountain. I am donating to Leah Black and wish her every success in her own battle and mountain to climb. This donation is also in celebration of my own mother's successful battle with cancer and for other family members going through tough times at the moment. Sent with Love, from Simmons Family
