The Power of People Against Poverty and Pollution

My name is Shalani I am 14 years old. I have been passionate about human suffering from a young age and would like to raise money to help Oxfam. They have some fantastic projects I'd like to help with. Just $300 can provide a water harvesting system to supply clean water for 200 families in drought stricken Southern Africa. $150 could help make life a bit easier for a person in Mozambique by giving them a donkey. These gentle beasts are strong, reliable and can carry food and water for people who live in remote areas. $98 can provide a family of goats for people living in rural communities in Mozambique. They provide manure to help grow crops and produce baby goats that can be sold for an income. Goats are distributed to vulnerable families because they are easy to raise and take care of. Oxfam Australia also provides training in keeping, vaccinating and de-worming the animals. $38 can provide chickens for families in South Africa to earn a living. Oxfam Australia works to increase access to food in South Africa by providing families with the initial training, support and livestock to raise chickens. Households can then eat the eggs and sell chickens and eggs at the market to earn money. Also donating money can also pay for a large clean up on the Great Pacific garbage patch, saving many lives and making the world a better place.
