Kids with Cancer Foundation (Australia) Limited, is a Public Benevolent Institution. An incorporated public company limited by guarantee, a non-profit charitable entity. We are a small independent children's charity. We have no affiliation with any single children's hospital quite the reverse, as we have donated to ten separate hospitals so far and are keen to challenge ourselves to aid further and to do much more for sick kids!
We receive no Government assistance and have no major corporate sponsors. The funds we raise come from our own efforts, by conducting continuous, successful lotteries (art unions/raffles) 7 days a week all year round. We have marketed our $2 tickets through shopping centers in NSW, the ACT and in Victoria, and it's the profits from these lotteries that we are able to pass on to benefit the children.
Kids with Cancer Foundation commenced in December 1998 with the aim to provide funding for: childhood cancer sufferers, their families and other institutions that assist children with cancer.
We provide direct financial assistance to young families of pre-teen children (12 years old and under) in financial difficulties due to their child being treated for cancer, along with doctors, nurses, social workers and support groups involved in caring for all children with cancer.
We hold a separate gift account, for the tax-deductible donations we receive and unlike most charitable institutions, we are able to pass on 100% of all direct donations to where they are most needed, the kids. No management fees, salaries or any running costs of the Foundation are taken from our 'Gift Account', and that is our promise to cancer families and our supporters.
