The Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association (ANZSA) is the peak body for the sarcoma community. ANZSA aims to improve outcomes for sarcoma patients through research, education and awareness of sarcomas and related tumours.

	 

	Sarcoma research receives significantly less funding than other types of cancers due to the rarity and varied types of sarcoma tumours. As a result, sarcoma researchers have limited resources to work on projects that may be the next breakthroughs in sarcoma diagnosis or treatment.

A very loved member of our family, Saheeda Zotter, was recently diagnosed with a Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma (aka soft tissue sarcoma…in basic terms, Cancer). 
 
Saheeda is a Mother of two, a Wife, a Sister to five, an Aunty to seventeen and a friend to many. 
 
As a family we are competing in a triathlon and those who cannot physically participate will shave their hair. 
 
We’re not just racing to finish or shaving for fun; we’re racing to raise awareness and funds for Sarcoma Research. We want every individual and family facing the same diagnosis to have the comfort of more medical research and treatment than was available to us. 
 
We stand in support of our fighter Saheeda, and those affected by this rare cancer.

In July 2021, the Milsom family lost our mum, wife, grandma, sister and aunty to Sarcoma which is a rare form of cancer that begins in the bones and soft tissues within the body. Mum battled for 6 years going through various types of treatments and in the past 2 years I have done between 20 thousand and 30 thousand steps on each day of July (this is the month that raises awareness for Sarcoma). This year, the family wants to get together and walk the rail trail from the Stump Hotel to the old Railway Station in Tallangatta which is approximately 35 kilometres to raise funds for ANZSA on Friday October the 4th.
