In response to The Great Commission, Compassion is an international Christian child development ministry, committed to child advocacy and working in partnership with local churches around the world to foster the spiritual, economic, social, physical and emotional development of children living in extreme poverty in over 26 developing countries. Compassion’s ministry to children is distinctly Christian. Our child development programs are unique in that they are: Christ-centred, child-focused and church-based.
Compassion’s holistic child development programs minister to the spiritual, economic, social, physical and emotional needs of children throughout all stages of development; from the womb to university. Programs operate exclusively through local churches in developing countries. more
Compassion works in partnership with local churches in developing countries; providing resources, training and expertise to assist in the operation of holistic child development programs. Local churches are empowered to develop Compassion’s programs towards meeting the specific and individual needs of the children within their local communities. more
Compassion works with the poorest of the poor children in over 26 developing countries around the world in Africa, Asia, Central and South America.
Compassion has nine ‘partner country’ offices around the world, which provide the funds, resources, and assistance with program development for the successful implementation of Compassion’s programs in the field, through a variety of marketing campaigns and advocacy initiatives. more
