Established in 2011, the Western Health Foundation supports the important work of Western Health - a major healthcare provider in Melbourne's west. Western Health provides healthcare service to more than 1 million people across the western region of Melbourne.
Our services are delivered from three acute hospitals in Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown, a day hospital in Sunbury and two residential aged care facilities in Melton and Williamstown.
As the official fundraising arm of Western Health, the Western Health Foundation facilitates opportunities for members of the community to support the work of Western Health through:
raising funds for the purchase of equipment and certain facilities
funding medical research
providing scholarships for staff
Funds raised by the Foundation are not used for general hospital operating expenses.
The activities of the Foundation are governed by a Board of Directors who are appointed by Western Health. The Directors bring to the Foundation considerable knowledge and expertise, particularly in the areas of philanthropy and corporate governance.
Western Health Foundation (ABN 37 867 721 909) is a registered charity with the Australian Non-Profit and Charities Commission (ACNC) and holds Tax Concession Charity (TCC) and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status
