The Wheen Bee Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes awareness of the importance of bees for food security, and raises funds for research that addresses the national and global threats to bees.
One in every three mouthfuls of food we eat depends on bees. Without bees there'd be no fruit, vegetables, oils, seeds and nuts.
In Australia, nearly two thirds of our agricultural production benefits from honey bee pollination.
But bees are under serious threat. And when they're in trouble, so are we.
These threats are complex and interrelated. They include the global spread of bee diseases, reduced availability of nectar and pollen from flowers, the use of agricultural chemicals that are harmful to bees, and a declining commercial beekeeping industry.
With your help, we can help honey bees stay healthy and safeguard national food security.
