What is TCF Australia:
TCF Australia is a volunteer driven nascent chapter of The Citizens Foundation that is focused on creating awareness and funds within Australia to support inclusive educational networks for the less priviliged children of Pakistan. Since our launch in 2013, TCF Australia supports 1 primary school in Pakistan with an aim to support many.
Why TCF ?
With a population reaching 200 million, Pakistan is the sixth largest population in the world which concludes to us representing a significant portion of the world population. Today, only half of the entire population is provided formal education and the situation is far from getting any better. By official estimates, Pakistan has one the highest illiteracy rates in the region with over 47%, males and an astonishing 72% for women.
TCF is a professionally managed, non-profit organization set up in 1995 by a group of citizens concerned with the dismal state of education in Pakistan. It is now one of Pakistan's leading organizations in the field of formal education. As of 2014, TCF has established 1000 purpose-built school units nationwide with an enrolment of 145,000 students. TCF encourages female enrolment and strives to maintain a 50% female ratio in most of its campuses. TCF has a full female faculty of 7,700 members.
