As the first Australian online fundraising platform, mycause has the most experience in many aspects of crowdfunding, including annual Matched Giving Days (MGDs). Many charities would benefit greatly from a giving day but do not have the knowledge or resources to effectively run it. When you hold your MGD with mycause, you get advice based on experience, project management and resources, and so much more.
mycause will manage your project end-to-end using the online tool Basecamp, which we will teach your team to navigate so we can be in constant communication and keep track of everything that needs to be done. Your team will also have the assistance of their very own mycause account manager and a dedicated project officer.
Whether your charity’s MGD consists of one campaign, or the increasingly popular Multi-Campaign, mycause will work with you to create a beautifully branded campaign page. Your multi-campaign solution will be created using our drag and drop website builder for a properly designed parent landing page and stand-alone campaign page per child campaign. Your campaign website will include an embedded donation widget with Apple Pay capability to make it even easier for your supporters to donate.
If you have influencers who raise money on your behalf, we can create branded fundraising pages for each of them connected directly to your website so their donations appear in your total automatically. Using our receipting system and receipt text and imagery of your choice, mycause will automatically send receipts by email to anyone who donates through any of your child campaigns, influencer fundraisers or the parent campaign page.
Your giving day campaign also features a branded URL with the option to get a brand-new domain name that is redirected to your campaign site or page. We recommend a short and memorable domain name that can be added to your marketing collateral and told during a volunteer phone room on the day of your MGD.
In the lead up to your charity’s MGD it is important to get the word out with digital marketing. mycause can set up your remarketing, domain marketing, look alikes, Gmail and social media ads for a small extra fee. We will also give recommendations for organic social media posting, included in the project management fee.
On the day of your charity’s MGD, things can get a bit hectic, especially if you have chosen to run a volunteer phone room to increase the number of donations you receive. Thankfully, as part of the project management, mycause will bring three staff members to help your giving day and phone room run smoothly. Our platform allows you to input donations made according to source (phone, mailed credit card, mailed cheques, offline and other) so you can tell exactly how your charity received the donations and what works best for you.
The platform also gives you access to a secure management portal for live transaction reporting, a running summary of your progress and transaction updates (in case a donor forgot to click anonymous for example.)
At the end of your 24-hour annual Matched Giving Day, not only will you have the donations you have raised, you will also have easy access to cleaned, coherent donor data through mycause reporting and our Salesforce app (which does not require Zapier). Following the campaign mycause will even give you a complete report of your charity’s campaign, including all digital referrals and complex analytics to inform all of your future campaigns.
