THE last text message Troy Baker sent to his wife was “I love you”.
It came through one hour before the Wallington dad was hit and killed by a forklift while working with his teenage son at a Lethbridge chicken farm on Monday night.
“When the accident happened, nobody rang me but I knew,” his heartbroken wife Tamar Baker said.
“I had a massive anxiety attack and, when the police came to my door, I already knew he was gone.”
The 41-year-old man will be remembered by Ms Baker, their three children and grandchild as someone who would do anything for them.
Not a “things or stuff guy” and a little rough around the edges, Ms Baker has paid tribute to the selfless man who lived for his family and would go out of his way to help others.
