A family trivia night run during each week of lockdown has raised over $280,000 for more than 100 charities and organisations.
Melbourne couple, Michael and Erin Nunan, hosted a total of 42 weekly Locked Down Trivia Nights with the help of siblings and partners.
Michael dressed in wacky costume and was an affabble MC.
His brother Paul was on "tech support", while his brother-in-law David managed the scoresheet.
Erin and Michael's sister-in-law, Catie, took on the organisation of the fundraiser which attracted an average of 300-450 households each week.
Working full-time from home with 2 children didn't stop Michael and Erin from wanting to brighten the weekend's of other families as everyone struggled through lockdown.
The couple used to host the annual trivia night for thier local childcare centre so the idea was born from their abilities.
After initial hiccups moving online, their success grew, as did their audience.
"It dawned on us that we could raise a lot of money," Michael told the ABC.
The family decided to end their Locked Down Trivia before Melbourne opened up again.
On the final night, the event raised $21,000 for 29 charities.
In March 2021, the Locked Down Trivia team was awarded City of Darebin's Community Group of the Year Winner 2020.
The family's Locked Down Trivia fundraiser was featured on ABC News including an interview with Michael Nunan.
