Loving mum Brittany McKillip is crowdfunding for an assistance dog on mycause for her 23 and 1/2 year old son, Ashton.
The aim is to raise $20,000 and just over $2600 has been raised to date.
Brittany told the Canterbury-Bankstown Express that the dog would give Ashton, who is autistic, and his parents around-the-clock support and assistance.
"The dogs are trained to anchor themselves to the ground so if [the kids] try and run, they can't get anywhere," explains Brittany.
"At night time, [Ashton] has tried to break out of his window and these dogs will alert you if they try to leave. It's 24-hour support we can't provide."
