Cabramatta family’s lucky escape after home burns to the ground

ALL that is left of Ian and Heidi Smith’s Cabramatta home are some bricks, a burnt iPhone and a post box they no longer have the keys for.

But the courageous family is already planning for the future thanks to a mycause page that has been set up to help them after their home was completely destroyed by fire last Wednesday.

“We’ve had some incredible acts of kindness from people,” Ian said in a story he did with the Daily Telegraph on July 29.
