A Mother’s Loss

Olga Edwards was the mother of two beautiful children, a son and a daughter, who were tragically killed on Thursday the 5th of July by their own father. Olga is originally from Russia, and apart from her children, Jack and Jennifer, has no family in Australia. Now, without her children, Olga feels all alone in the world.

While she may not have family here, Olga’s friends at the Bikram Yoga studio in Northwest Sydney have rallied around her with love and support while she mourns her loss.

Members of the yoga studio have created a mycause campaign to raise money for Olga to ease her financial pressure as she deals with the loss of her children. The money raised will go towards the children’s funerals as well as other daily expenses that may cause extra pressure while Olga grieves.

A friend of Jack’s from school also created a campaign to raise money for Homicide Victims’ Support Group, a charity in New South Wales which offers counselling and support to families who have experienced trauma following a homicide. The campaign For Jack will hopefully mean that Olga, and other families dealing with similar loss, will get some emotional support as they confront their experiences.

If you or someone you know has lost a friend or family member too soon, you can start a campaign for them or for a charity close to them through mycause.com.au and make their grieving process a little bit easier.
