After struggling with anxiety for years and living an unhealthy lifestyle I realised I needed change. I quit my job of 2 years working overseas on the Super Yachts, ordered a Penny Farthing and planned to ride across Australia with the hope that it would heal my mind and body.
Once back in Australia while waiting for the Penny Farthing to be built I ran out of money and managed to get another job working fly-in fly-out, driving boats in Queensland.
This job put the ride on hold, and a year and a half later my anxiety was in full flight. Breaking down in front of my Mum in mid 2019 and a trip to the local wake park was to be the catalyst to reignite the tour. So, I committed a date to the ride and started researching and preparing for the literal long road ahead.
The considerable change in diet and the introduction of regular fitness to my life caught me by surprise. After just a couple of weeks I noticed a change in my mental clarity and my overall mood. I had almost what seemed to be a confidence boost in social situations and I was starting to enjoy everything in life more. Everything from sunsets and glassy still days on the ocean, to my fly-in fly-out job seemed to be more appreciated, enjoyable, and beautiful. My mind generally just felt calmer.
This change in my mental state has made me want to dedicate the ride to raising awareness about how healthy changes to your lifestyle can help you improve you mental wellbeing and assist in reducing anxiety and depression. I have chosen to try and raise money for who I believe are 6 of Australia’s best foundations/organisations that assist people and provide solutions to those dealing with mental health issues.
My official Guinness World Record attempt commencing mid January 2020, will cover approximately 6500kms from Brisbane to Perth and include passing through NSW, Victoria and South Australia. It is sure to be both a mental and physical challenge!!

Love from the $1 from every ticket holder for the first fortnight of shows on the 'In The Grand Scheme' Australian Tour. Devastated we had to cancel the remainder of the tour, but very fortunate to have started and to be able to give to the cause. Inspired every day by your efforts Dan and Andy; the money you raise will change so many people's lives.
Love you brother, keep giving life 110%.
