Subsdance Family Quarantine Relief

This week, Subsdance Dance Studio was listed as an exposure site on Tuesday 10th August after one of our Family members tested positive for COVID 19 over the weekend. Over 70 people have been affected by "The Subsdance Quarantine".

The response of the Subsdance community has been overwhelming. From the close contacts all rallying and getting tested despite ridiculous wait times, outpourings of love, offerings of help and support for everyone affected. A scary and worrying time suddenly had a glittering purple lining; as always, the Subsdance community showed up for each other through the toughest of times.

To match the incredible response of our community, I have decided to create a "Care Package" Drive for those in the "Subsdance Quarantine", and to fundraise for the people in financial need due to loss of work.

I will also be creating a special care package and gift for the person who did test positive. They are slowly healing, but will be unable to work for a while and it is so important to me, that they know their Subsdance family has got their back. This could have happened to anyone. They weren't doing anything wrong, not breaking rules or putting anyone else at risk; simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Can you imagine how scary it was? They have expressed to me "It is such a bad, bad feeling". We want to show them that far from blaming them, or being against them; we are with them through this unconditionally.

I had intended to fund all the above myself through the business. But after seeing the countless messages pledging support, asking how you can help and offering financial aid to each other, it felt almost like a dishonor to your kindness to try and cut people out of helping each other. In these times where we feel so helpless, it does feel good to do something for someone else.

To be transparent, no matter how much we raise, this "Care Package Drive" will go ahead. The support for the Subsdance case will go ahead. But anything you can offer will be gratefully and humbly channeled back into this cause.

The funds will be distributed as follows:

- A large sum will go towards providing financial support for the Subsdance Case and any Subsdance family members who are struggling from loss of work for immediate aid.
-Covering costs of emergency supply drops (i.e grocery deliveries, medication drops etc)
- Paying for petrol/delivery services for delivering the packages safely and in a socially distanced, incredibly conscious way.
- recouping costs of Care Packages delivered this coming weekend. Subsdance will fund them upfront and use this fundraiser to recoup some of the costs associated. There will be physical care packages delivered through a contactless system, and also digital care packages sent via email!

Any funds "left-over", will be donated to the Subsdance Case or donated to an appropriate cause helping with the crisis.
