Hi my name is Dave and I am fundraising to help out my brothers and sisters who have suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to their military service. I plan on fundraising enough money to provide 3 Young Diggers Dogs to 3 of my fellow ex-servicemen and women. This cause is something that is close to my heart and I feel as though I need to help out the people that have served our country.
I will be participating in 3 physically demanding events throughout the year in order to raise these funds. My first event with be on Saturday the 28th of March 2015 where I will be climbing Mount Bogong - the highest mountain in Victoria.
As I have dates for my future events I will update my page but until then I want to keep spreading the word on mental illness and help get enough funds for these well deserving men and women.

The Young Diggers Dog Squad, is training rescued dogs to become Assistance Dogs to support the rehabilitation of our serving and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who are dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD). This unique program is helping more than just the individuals. The Dog Squad helps Defence families to better cope with the effects of PTSD and saves the lives of abandoned dogs. Throughout this program, Young Diggers provide help and practical support to enhance the quality of life for both the dog and their new owner.
The Defence Bank Foundation proudly supports The Defence Community Dogs (DCD) program which trains Dogs to Assistance dog level to provide support to serving and ex-serving Defence members to help them better manage injuries and illnesses including Post-traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD).
