I am Brendon Alsop, 47 from Geelong in Victoria and I have decided to walk, with my dog Jojo, unaided from Geelong to Cairns.
Weight has been something that I have battled most of my life. To beat it and get my life back I needed to do something radical and what's more radical than to spend a year or so to walk around Australia.Now is the time to regain my life and do something to rid myself of my weight problem.
On the way I am aiming not only to lose weight and regain my life, but also to raise money for Cancer research and treatment (in honour of my Father, other family members and good friends who have fought and lost their battle against various cancers over the past 5 years) my charities being the Australia Cancer Foundation and the Andrew Love Centre of Barwon Health Geelong.
My Cause Gift Fund (MCGF) ABN 43 106 238 101 is a DGR public ancillary fund. The trustees will always disburse funds to the nominated cause, however in the case that that is not possible, the funds will be disbursed to a DGR charity at the trustees discretion.
